Zuka, Manifesting!

It was as though forces came together to create this platform.

The journey began in 2023, when I encountered a species I knew very little about; The Cat.

Mysterious. Unpredictable. Intimidating. Unfamiliar. Unknown.

These were the words that came to mind when I first saw a house filled with more than 30 cats. I had always thought of myself as a dog person, only to realise that cats and dogs aren’t all that different. Perhaps it’s simply their mannerisms and appearance that make them seem so.

My first rescue was a tiny kitten outside my store, probably sometime in 2015. She had fallen from the roof and was crying for her mother. I took her home and asked my mom to feed her because I had absolutely no idea what to do. The very next day, I found her an adoptive home in a multi-cat household.

It felt good.

Something within me had shifted.

Then came Milo. I adopted Milo on 16th March 2023. He simply came and sat on my lap, as if he had found his home. And somehow, I felt like a mother — truly. Looking down at him, all cocooned in my lap, was one of the most beautiful feelings I had ever experienced. This is what it feels like to be a Mother. I made a promise to him that day; I would take him wherever I go. He was a part of me, and I was a part of him.

Zuka was meant to happen. It was almost magical how everything began to unravel and fall into place. Somewhere along the way, I found my purpose. I found the platform I needed to pursue what I believe is one of life’s greatest goals; to create better care for animals.

It felt as though an opportunity was signalling me “Here, I have made it easier for you. Now go earn it.”

I know we need a system in our society where animals can be understood better — where their needs, behaviour, health and emotions are approached with greater empathy and understanding. I may not know them in their entirety. And perhaps I never will. Because this is a learning process.

New things. New information. New ideas. New concepts.

And this is just the beginning.

Through Zuka, I want to make it easier for people to care more for these beautiful beings by bringing together almost everything one needs when it comes to pet care and animal welfare.

My vision is simple and clear:

To create a safer, kinder and more beautiful world for animals, in whatever capacity I am able to. They deserve the very best care.
